Anubion, Poeta Astrologus
Anubion, Poeta Astrologus
?
Anubion was a Greek-Egyptian poet who composed astrological verse, probably in the 1st or 2nd century CE under Roman rule. He is associated with an astrological poem in elegiac couplets, surviving only in fragments (some recovered on papyri), which treated the casting and interpretation of horoscopes. He worked within the tradition of technical didactic poetry on astrology, drawing on the same body of doctrine linked to figures like Dorotheus of Sidon. Few biographical facts about him are securely known, and the boundaries of his authentic work remain debated by scholars.
