Amenhotep I (Djeserkare)

1525 BCE1504 BCE · New-Kingdom

Amenhotep I (throne-name Djeserkare) was the second king of Dynasty 18, who consolidated the early New Kingdom after the wars of reunification. Together with his mother Ahmose-Nefertari, he was later venerated as a patron deity by the workmen of Deir el-Medina, the village of craftsmen who built the royal tombs, an unusual and long-lasting posthumous cult.
