Hotepsekhemwy

Hotepsekhemwy was the first king of Dynasty 2. His name, which can be read 'The two powers are at peace', has often been taken to mark a reconciliation after a troubled dynastic transition, though this reading is interpretive. He is attested by seals and a gallery tomb at Saqqara; the chronology of Dynasty 2 is loose.
