Ptolemy VII Neos Philopator (existence disputed)

? · Undated

Ptolemy VII Neos Philopator is the figure assigned the number VII in the conventional Ptolemaic sequence, but whether he ever actually reigned, rather than being a short-lived co-regent son later murdered by Ptolemy VIII, or simply an artefact of the numbering, is doubted by scholars. He is kept here only to mark the disputed slot and to keep the downstream numbering transparent; he is not asserted as a reigning king.
