2345 BCE–2323 BCE · Old-Kingdom

Teti founded Dynasty 6, conventionally dated to around 2345-2323 BCE. He built a pyramid at Saqqara inscribed with Pyramid Texts. The later writer Manetho reports that he was murdered by his own bodyguard, but this is a claim recorded long afterward and cannot be confirmed from contemporary evidence.
