Userkaf

Userkaf founded Dynasty 5, conventionally dated to around 2494-2487 BCE. He was the first king to build a dedicated sun-temple to the god Ra, at Abusir near Abu Ghurab, signalling the rise of the Heliopolitan solar cult that gives Dynasty 5 its character. A later literary tale ascribes a divine origin to the sun-kings of his dynasty; this is literature, not history.
