Venantius

Venantius is known from a short poem On Easter attributed to him among the minor Latin Christian writers of late antiquity. Little can be said with certainty about his life or dates, and he should not be confused with the later poet Venantius Fortunatus. The surviving verses treat the Paschal mystery, reflecting the early Church's deep devotion to Christ's resurrection and the central place the Easter feast held in Christian worship and poetry.
