Tattva 20 — Taste (Rasana)

The power to taste: the subtle faculty of perceiving flavor.

Rasana is the capacity for taste — the subtle power of perceiving flavor that works through the tongue. The fourth of the five knowing-faculties, it is how the embodied self savors what it takes in. As a tattva it is the tasting-power itself, distinct from the physical organ.
