Mind-Benders of Ancient Egyptian History
Stonehenge and the Great Pyramid rose together
Two of the ancient world's most famous monuments, on opposite ends of Europe and Africa, were built within about a century of each other. Khufu's Great Pyramid at Giza was completed around 2560 BCE, and the giant sarsen stones that give Stonehenge its familiar silhouette were raised around 2500 BCE.
How we know
Great Pyramid c. 2560 BCE (Khufu, 4th Dynasty). Stonehenge's great sarsen circle/trilithons erected c. 2500 BCE -> the two built within ~60-100 years of each other.
