Annesi (also Annisa), the family estate of Basil the Great on the Iris River in Pontus, northern Turkey, near Neocaesarea. Basil withdrew to a hermitage on the Iris near Annesi, opposite the ascetic community his mother Emmelia and sister Macrina had established there.
