Beit She'anבית שאן
Land of Israel — Beit She'an Valley
Beit She'an, a town in the Beit She'an Valley at the junction of the Jezreel and Jordan valleys in northern Israel, is an ancient site mentioned in the Tanach and a major city in the Roman-Byzantine period. The fourteenth-century geographer Rabbi Ishtori HaParchi settled there as a physician and completed his Kaftor VaFerach (1322), the first Hebrew book on the geography of the Land of Israel.
