Buffalo, New York

Buffalo, in western New York State, USA, is connected to the Islamic stream as the place where the ideologue Abul A'la Mawdudi (d. 1979), founder of the Jama'at-i Islami, died: he travelled to the United States for medical treatment and died in a Buffalo hospital in September 1979, after which his body was returned to Lahore for burial.
