Burgos, the medieval Castilian royal capital, hosted a major Jewish community from the 11th to 15th centuries. R. Todros HaLevi Abulafia (Otzar HaKavod) served here, and Burgos played a central role in 14th-century Castilian Jewish life until the 1391 pogroms and the eventual 1492 expulsion.
