Bursa

Bursa, in northwestern Anatolia (modern Turkey), was the first major capital of the Ottoman Empire (from its conquest by Orhan in 1326) before Edirne and Constantinople, and contains the tombs of the early Ottoman sultans. It was an early Ottoman religious and scholarly centre; the chief jurist Ebussuud Efendi (d. 1574) served there for a time.
