Bust

Bust (medieval Bust, near modern Lashkar Gah) in Helmand, southern Afghanistan, was an important city of the region under the Saffarids and Ghaznavids. The hadith scholar Ibn Hibban al-Busti (d. 965), author of a major Sahih collection arranged by an original system, was from Bust, from which he took his nisba al-Busti; he later served as a judge (qadi) at Samarqand.
