Damanhour (Egypt)דמנהור
Egypt
Damanhour, a city in the Nile Delta of northern Egypt, is best known in Jewish tradition as the burial place of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira (the Abir Yaakov, 1806-1880), the great Moroccan kabbalist. He fell ill and died in Damanhour while traveling toward the Land of Israel, and his tomb there has become a site of pilgrimage.
