Denia

Denia (Arabic Daniya), a port on the Mediterranean coast of eastern Spain, was the capital of a taifa kingdom in al-Andalus under the Slav ruler Mujahid al-Amiri (early 11th century), who gathered scholars at his court. The Qur'an-recitation master Abu Amr al-Dani (d. 1053), author of al-Taysir, settled in Denia under Mujahid's patronage and took his nisba from it.
