Ghazipur

Ghazipur, on the Ganges in eastern Uttar Pradesh, northern India, was a district town of the region. It is connected to the modernist reformer Sayyid Ahmad Khan (d. 1898), who served there as a colonial judicial officer and founded a school (the Ghazipur Scientific Society's early activities) before launching his larger educational projects.
