Kālaḍi (Kaladi)

Kālaḍi is a village on the Periyār (Pūrṇā) River in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, south-west India, traditionally held to be the birthplace of Ādi Śaṅkara, the foremost expositor of Advaita Vedānta.
