Jawzjan

Jawzjan was a district of the historic region of Khurasan, in present-day northern Afghanistan around modern Sheberghan. It was a region of towns on the routes between Balkh and Merv; the hadith scholar Sa'id ibn Mansur (d. c. 842), compiler of a well-known Sunan, is associated with the wider Khurasan-Hejaz sphere of hadith transmission.
