Lorca

Lorca (Arabic Lurqa), in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain, was a frontier town of al-Andalus. It is associated with the Maliki Qur'an commentator Ibn Atiyya al-Andalusi (d. c. 1147), author of the tafsir al-Muharrar al-Wajiz, who served as a judge in the region; his family was rooted in the southeast of al-Andalus.
