Caria

Nysa was a Greek city of Caria, in the Maeander valley of southwestern Asia Minor (near modern Sultanhisar, Turkey), known as a seat of learning. The geographer Strabo studied there in his youth under the grammarian Aristodemus, and describes the city in his Geography.
