Greece (Peloponnese)

Patras, a port city in the Peloponnese of western Greece, was visited by the kabbalist Rabbi Abraham Abulafia during his travels in the thirteenth century. It was in Patras, in 1279, that he wrote Sefer ha-Yashar, the first of his prophetic books.
