Ta'izz
Yemen
Ta'izz, a city in the southern highlands of Yemen, was a center of Yemenite Jewish life. The greatest of the Yemenite Jewish poets, Rabbi Shalom Shabazi (c. 1619-c. 1720), settled there and built a synagogue and ritual bath; he is buried in Ta'izz, and his grave has long been venerated by Jews and Muslims alike.
