Uhud
Mount Uhud, just north of Medina in the Hejaz of western Saudi Arabia, was the site of the Battle of Uhud in 625 between the Muslims of Medina and the Meccans, in which the Muslims suffered a setback. The Prophet's uncle Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib (d. 625) was killed there and is buried at the battlefield, where he is remembered as 'Lord of the Martyrs.'
