KwaDukuza (Dukuza)
KwaDukuza is a town on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, about 73 km from Durban. The Zulu king Shaka made it his capital in the 1820s; its name is often rendered as 'place of the lost person'. Shaka was killed here on 22 September 1828 in a coup led by his half-brothers, among them Dingane. European settlers built a town named Stanger on the site in 1873, and it officially took back the name KwaDukuza in 2006.
