al-Yamama

Al-Yamama was a region of central Arabia, in the area of modern Riyadh in Najd, Saudi Arabia. It is best known for the Battle of al-Yamama (Battle of Aqraba) in 632, a decisive engagement of the Ridda (apostasy) wars in which the Muslim army under Khalid ibn al-Walid defeated the forces of the self-proclaimed prophet Musaylima.
