Yodfat (Jotapata)יודפת
Galilee
Yodfat (Greek Jotapata) was a fortified Jewish town in the Lower Galilee. During the Great Revolt against Rome, it was besieged and destroyed by the forces of Vespasian in 67 CE after a 47-day siege; its Jewish commander, Yosef ben Matityahu, was captured there and went on to write, as Flavius Josephus, the principal histories of the revolt.
