Mind-Benders of Ancient Egyptian History
Cleopatra's daughter became a queen of North Africa
Cleopatra Selene II, the only daughter of Cleopatra VII, was born in Egypt around 40 BCE, marched as a captive in a Roman triumph after her parents' deaths, raised in the household of the emperor's sister, then married off to a Berber prince — and reigned as Queen of Mauretania in what is now Morocco and Algeria, minting coins in her own name a thousand miles from home.
