Elis

Olympia, in the territory of Elis in the western Peloponnese, was the great panhellenic sanctuary of Zeus and the site of the Olympic Games. It was a setting for public oratory: the sophist Gorgias of Leontini is reported to have delivered an Olympic Oration there urging concord among the Greeks.
