Nectanebo I (Kheperkare)

Nectanebo I (Egyptian Nakhtnebef; throne-name Kheperkare) founded Dynasty 30, the last native Egyptian dynasty, reigning in the Late Period around 380-362 BCE. A major builder, he raised the first pylon at Karnak and began the great temple complex of Isis on the island of Philae. In 373 BCE he successfully repelled a large Persian invasion, securing Egyptian independence for another generation.
