al-Qa'im

Al-Qa'im (1001–1075) was the twenty-sixth Abbasid caliph, ruling from 1031 to 1075. During his reign the Seljuk leader Tughril Beg entered Baghdad in 1055, ending Buyid domination and establishing the Seljuks as the caliphate's new protectors. Al-Qa'im continued as the religious head of Sunni Islam under Seljuk power until his death in 1075.
