Taanit Bechorot (Fast of the Firstborn)
On the morning before Passover, firstborn sons fast to recall that the Israelite firstborn were spared in Egypt — but almost everyone is released from it by joining a siyum, the celebration of finishing a tractate of Talmud, whose joy outranks the fast.
