Isabella II of Spain

Isabella II was Queen of Spain from 1833 until she was deposed in 1868. Her accession as an infant, under a disputed change to the succession law, triggered the Carlist Wars against supporters of her uncle's claim, and much of her reign was marked by political instability and shifting governments. Her rule was ended by the Glorious Revolution of 1868, after which she went into exile in France. She abdicated her claim in favor of her son, Alfonso XII, in 1870, and died in 1904.
