Kaykhusraw I
?–1211 CE · Konya
Kaykhusraw I was a sultan of the Seljuks of Rum who ruled in two separate reigns (1192–1196 and 1205–1211), having been deposed after his first accession and later restored. He captured the Mediterranean port of Antalya in 1207, giving the largely landlocked sultanate access to the sea and to maritime trade. He was killed in 1211 at the Battle of Antioch on the Meander, fighting the Byzantine successor state of Nicaea.
