Probus

Probus (reigned 276-282 CE) was a soldier-emperor of the Crisis of the Third Century, born at Sirmium (modern Sremska Mitrovica) in Pannonia around 232. He campaigned successfully to restore the Rhine and Danube frontiers and to suppress usurpers across the empire. He was killed by his own troops in a military mutiny at Sirmium in 282.
