Quintillus
c. 212 CE–c. 270 CE · Sremska Mitrovica
Marcus Aurelius Claudius Quintillus (born c. 212 CE, probably near Sirmium in Pannonia, modern Sremska Mitrovica) was the brother of the emperor Claudius II Gothicus. On Claudius's death from plague in 270 CE, Quintillus was proclaimed emperor but ruled only a few weeks before the army elevated Aurelian. He died around September 270 CE, by accounts either taking his own life or killed by his own soldiers.
