Barkiyaruq
1080 CE–1105 CE · Isfahan
Barkiyaruq (Berkyaruq) was a son of Malik-Shah I who ruled the Great Seljuk Empire from 1094 to 1105 during a period of dynastic civil war. His reign was largely consumed by conflict with his half-brother Muhammad Tapar and other claimants, which weakened central authority. This instability coincided with the arrival of the First Crusade in Syria and the rise of the Nizari Ismailis in Iran. He died in 1105 and was succeeded by Muhammad Tapar.
