Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Muhammad Ali Jinnah (1876–1948) was a lawyer and politician who led the Muslim League in the movement for a separate Muslim-majority state, resulting in the creation of Pakistan in 1947. Once an advocate of Hindu-Muslim unity within the Indian independence movement, he later championed the demand for Pakistan. He became the country's first Governor-General, a position he held from 1947 until his death the following year. He is known in Pakistan by the title Quaid-i-Azam, meaning Great Leader.
