Ghiyath al-Din Tughlaq

Ghiyath al-Din Tughlaq, also known as Ghazi Malik, was the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty of Delhi, taking power in 1320 after overthrowing Khusrau Khan. A veteran frontier commander, he worked to restore order and sound administration and founded the fortified city of Tughluqabad. He died in 1325 when a wooden pavilion collapsed, and was succeeded by his son Muhammad bin Tughluq.
