Firuz Shah Tughlaq

Firuz Shah Tughlaq (born 1309) was a cousin and successor of Muhammad bin Tughluq who ruled Delhi for nearly four decades from 1351. He is remembered chiefly for extensive public works, including canals, the city of Firuzabad, and the repair of older monuments, alongside a comparatively cautious military posture. His fiscal and administrative measures brought a degree of stability, though he also enforced discriminatory taxation and religious policies. After his death in 1388 the sultanate declined rapidly.
