Hayam Wuruk
1334 CE–1389 CE · Trowulan (Majapahit)
Hayam Wuruk (1334–1389), also known as Rajasanagara, ruled the Javanese Majapahit Empire from 1350 to 1389, its era of greatest power. Working with his forceful prime minister Gajah Mada, he extended Majapahit's influence across much of the Indonesian archipelago and the Malay Peninsula. His court is celebrated in the Old Javanese poem Nagarakretagama (1365), which records the empire at its zenith and remains a key source for the period, making his reign a golden age in Indonesian historical memory.
