R. Aaron Teitelbaum (b. 1947), the elder son of R. Moshe Teitelbaum (Berach Moshe — third Satmar Rebbe), is the senior Satmar Rebbe of the Aroni faction, based in Kiryas Joel (Monroe NY). Following his father's death in 2006 the Satmar movement split between him and his younger brother R. Zalman Leib (the Zali faction), with each leading roughly half the global Satmar community. He maintains Satmar's signature stringent anti-Zionist position inherited from his great-uncle R. Yoel Teitelbaum.
