Mustafa II
1664 CE–1703 CE · Constantinople
Mustafa II was an Ottoman ruler who personally led his armies against the Holy League in an effort to reverse Ottoman losses. His forces were decisively defeated at the Battle of Zenta in 1697, which led to the Treaty of Karlowitz in 1699 by which the empire ceded Hungary and other territories. He was deposed in the 1703 revolt known as the Edirne Event and died the same year.
