Túpac Inca Yupanqui

Túpac Inca Yupanqui (died 1493) was the tenth Sapa Inca of Tawantinsuyu, the son of Pachacuti, and traditionally reigned from about 1471. As his father's leading general and then as emperor, he directed the conquest of the powerful coastal Kingdom of Chimor around 1470, absorbing its capital Chan Chan. He extended the empire far to the south into present-day Chile and northward toward Ecuador, bringing Tawantinsuyu near its greatest size. His reign consolidated Inca administration across a vast and varied territory.
