Khizr Khan

?1421 CE · Delhi

Khizr Khan was the founder of the Sayyid dynasty of Delhi, taking control of the city in 1414 in the aftermath of Timur's devastating invasion of 1398. Having earlier governed Multan, he ruled Delhi nominally as a vassal of the Timurids rather than assuming full royal titles. His authority extended over only a much-reduced territory around Delhi and the Punjab. He died in 1421.
