Sikandar Lodi
1458 CE–1517 CE · Delhi
Sikandar Lodi (born 1458) was the second and most successful ruler of the Lodi dynasty, extending the sultanate's authority across much of the Gangetic plain. A capable administrator and a poet in Persian, he reorganized revenue and the judiciary and founded the city of Agra in 1504 as a new administrative center. His reign also included episodes of iconoclasm and restrictions on non-Muslim subjects. He died in 1517.
