William Pitt the Younger

William Pitt the Younger was a British statesman who served as Prime Minister from 1783 to 1801 and again from 1804 until his death in 1806. Becoming prime minister at the age of 24, he was the youngest person to hold the office. He led Britain through the early years of the wars against Revolutionary and Napoleonic France and oversaw the Act of Union of 1800, which united Great Britain and Ireland. He was known for his fiscal reforms and his reorganization of the national finances.
