Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a composer of the Classical era. Born in Salzburg in 1756, he showed early musical ability and was taken by his father, Leopold, on extended performing tours of European courts as a child. He composed prolifically across genres, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, sacred works, and operas such as The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute. From 1781 he worked in Vienna as a freelance musician, teacher, and performer. He married Constanze Weber in 1782. He died in Vienna in December 1791, aged 35, leaving his Requiem unfinished.
